A unseasonal coneflower

Remember this shot ? We've reached home and late autumn/almost winter temperatures this morning and this coneflower bud 4 weeks later is still doing its best to flower despite the night frosts!  I haven't been able to sleep much during the overnight flight and the time-difference/jetlag is definitely hitting me this afternoon, so it will be an early night for me, that's for sure.
The house in any case looked fine, but no St Nicholas surprises ;-) The first batch of laundry is being done, the garden was inspected and is starting to look very bare, this single coneflower bud, one violet and a couple of very late St Johns Wort flowers are the only plants left flowering.
