Phase 2

Phase 2 of the planned re-introduction of livestock grazing to the commons began today with the arrival of 80 Hebridean sheep and a handful of Sussex and Longhorn cattle. Phase 3 starts at the end of the month when we are due to receive ten Exmoor ponies.

I managed to catch up with some of the sheep mid morning, they seem content enough. It might not sound very exciting to most folk but this is the culmination of a twenty year campaign so quite a big news day for us.
