There and back again

The Meeting

Today's drive across the moor was made more interesting by thick mist and 50 m visibility, avoiding highland cattle with 5ft spread of horns and sheep asleep in the road. Our choice of walks today was Bellever and we were rewarded by the appearance of this gentle young mare and her fold. We stood still to see what she would do and she came straight up to see us before wondering off with her offspring. What a treat.

These ponies belong to a trust which are heavily involved with maintaining the breed on the moor
