Volcanic hills

An amazing day spent walking from the top of the mountains down across the volcanic rocks to Casas la Cantera on the beach. A warm wind was blowing quite strongly as we set off walking slowly down the well formed path. It was a very wild area with incredible rock formations and a deep valley running to one side. You can see our path down in the foreground.

We reached the bottom where there are the remains of a tuna canning factory. The factory was only in production for a few years and ceased in 1837when the owner died. His permit was not renewed. It’s surprising how much still remains today. It was then a slow walk back to the top.

A very enjoyable day with lots of photos to look at later.
