What a lovely day:-

to Visit Spooyt Vane

Spooyt Vane is the Manx name for "white spout"

As a description of the waterfall that I visited today it is very apt.

The waterfall is situate in a valley near the west coast of the island and between Peel and Kirk Michael.  The valley felt quite remote and there was not a soul about.

Much of it is overhung by trees and the winter sun was preparing to set.  One walked past early Christian church remains of the 8th-10th century.

I have to say that this valley really did have a feeling of history all around.
