Practical Matters

My Dear Fellows & Dear Princess,

Sometimes I feel bad when I look at blip. Do you? There's these amazing pictures that actual people take with lenses and filters and everything and I look around me at a beautiful city and then go and take a picture of a rubbish bag.

Well, you know. The thing is I thought I'd explain some of the boring@rse detail to living in Wellington. The rubbish bags are bloody expensive. This is because you HAVE to buy them unless you want your house filled with stinking rubbish. These are the only bags that get taken away. It's about $30 for a pack of FIVE. And we get through about three bags every week.

I suppose it makes it fair really. The more you throw out, the more you pay. I suppose that's a bit hard on parents with lots of children as they must generate loads of rubbish. But on the other hand they got to have all that sex. There are green bags too, which are free. So the more you recycle the more you save.

I also inserted my little red snapper into the picture.

(Pause for dirty jokes).

It's a little card you can pre-load with money that you can use for a variety of travel-related things. I only ever use mine for the cable car, which is annoying because I pre-loaded it with 30 days worth of bus travel. One day I'll use it.

So that's my rubbish entry for today. Literally and figuratively. I wonder if it would have looked better if I'd used a special filter?

p.s. I'm right now watching "Gogglebox Australia". I love this show. The Australians are very funny people. In this episode, they are watching "Michael Moseley's The Story of Life" which is all about childbirth. Michael theorised that children born in Africa during the wet season had a longer overall lifespan. This prompted some discussion in the Aussie families:

CHILD: Dad, was I conceived during the wet season?
DAD: Well... it was certainly MOIST...
CHILD: Aaaaaaaaaahhhh!! Shut up shut up shut up!!!
