Sunday: Advertising At Commercial and Charles
A few weeks ago, at the Eastside Culture Crawl, K. saw a painting she saw by a Serbian artist. After pondering to and fro, she contacted him and today we drove over to his studio to pick it up. It's lovely - I also like it very much. Somehow we weren't surprised that the artist, Sasha, turned out to be Serbian as his work was very reminiscent of a lot of the art we liked in Croatia. Rather unsurprisingly, we got into quite a lengthy discussion on the politics of the region with him. These conversations remain as complicated as they did when we lived in Croatia.
Beforehand, we stopped for a coffee on Commercial Drive.

On the basis of 'The Autobiography of Alice B. Toklas', by Gertrude Stein, which I finished a few days ago, I think I would have really liked to have known those two. They sound so much nicer than Radclyffe and Una (who don't sound nice at all.......)
