the hunt
Almost every year we meet as a family at a local tree farm to chop down our Christmas tree. This year the timing didn't work out as well and so we just met up with our oldest daughter and her family. It was 4pm and almost dark as we began the hunt for our tree and they for theirs. The family that owns this particular tree farm are also our dentists. The father was initially our dentist until he retired and handed the practise over to two of his sons. In fact, these 2 sons dated our 2 daughters for a time during high school. Lovely young men.
Anyway...it's an annual thing and usually I manage to get some really great shots of the kids choosing a tree or one of the Dad's chopping it down. It got dark so quickly that I only managed the one shot of Ruby (granddaughter #2) being silly with Gramps (extra) and the main being the little cottage where hot chocolate and cookies are served to families while looking for their tree. It's a fun family event and something we look forward to every year!
