Flying Saucers?
I was in town today for a 'Work Directions' meeting. I thought it was going to be another waste of time as I am going back to work on the 2nd Feb. But I was pleasantly surprised!
They are mandatory interviews for people off on health related reasons and claiming Incapacity, and offer all sorts of help, via courses, help with writing CV's,finding suitable jobs and help getting benefits that you are entitled to. They also help with the paperwork regarding benefits when going back to work, which I am pleased about if going by how hard applying for Incapacity was!
Although I am going back to work next month I can access their courses and help for 6 months after.
It has opened my eyes to what kind of things are available, if you don't need these services you don't know these kinds of things are available. There's a whole world going on that I didn't know about.
I was given a booklet to see if any of the courses grabbed my attention. I found a Pilates courese and since my physio had mentioned that now would a good time to look into Yoga or Pilates I got myself booked on that this Friday...looking forward to that.
I also found a course 'Coping with Pain' which helps you live with chronic pain and discover coping strategies, both physically and emotionally - I have also signed up for that too, which I think will be really beneficial as I am quite apprehensive going back to work while still in pain.
There was another one - 'Managing your moods' - might need that one when I go back to work!! :)
