Behind already

I opened day 1 of my gin advent calendar this evening, a day late ! The tasting notes are in German and I am trying to read them, without resorting to google translate Tonight I thought the gin tasted a little reminiscent of the maquis herbs in Corsica, so was pleased to see that this was an alpine gin from Germany.
I am wondering how much of this new vocabulary I will be able to drop into daily conversations...
