Festive

I may have mentioned before that I'm naturally very bah humbug about the whole Christmas thing, however, I do try to hide it a bit. To that end, today I put up the tree, which is one festive ritual I actually quite like, probably because it's a Pagan tradition like all the best bits which were, of course, stolen by the Christians. I also put the wreath on the door and the candle arch in the kitchen window. And that's my seasonal decorating done!

In other news, I went to the optician this morning to get both pairs of glasses fixed as a screw had come out of one and the other was too loose. I also enquired about occupational lenses as I've been struggling with forever having to change pairs and things like work, shopping, giving presentations, etc, have all become really tricky due to my different sight ranges. Anyway, a couple of hours and several hundred pounds later I'd ordered some new frames and varifocal lenses to go in them for reading, computer use, 'room' range (so I don't have to peer over the top of my specs when I look at people) and distance range for driving.

I realised afterwards that the frames I've chosen (a process which took quite some time and the opinions of several members of staff) are similar to Mr DA's and when I mentioned this to him he pointed out that when we’re together now we'll look like the Two Ronnies :D
