Bird's eye view

N and I travelled up by train to the Farmers' Club in Whitehall Court with friends from Glastonbury for the week-end.  Our room was on the 7th floor just under the eaves of this large building and the view from the window was over the rooftops looking towards the Post Office Tower on the skyline and  down below at the back of the sculpture of the Royal Tank Regiment.  Opposite are the steps of the Corinthian, a very expensive luxury hotel.  It used to be a redundant Ministry and has been converted quite recently.  There is also one opposite the Club where building has started to make another hotel. The cranes are enormous - 93 metres high and they are able to lift 30 tons!!
