A view from a room
Another long journey today - near enough four hundred miles to Birmingham and back. The driving is fine, but when we get there, we've got very heavy bookcases to carry upstairs. So P is back in Brum, after a flying weekend visit to us, now he is installed in what must be his sixth or seventh property in as many years. At least he shouldn't get much noise from his neighbours opposite.
I know one lorry driver, he is a very reasonable fellow and I am sure there are many more out there, but I think they are unaware that they come very close to causing accidents on a daily basis. They will try and overtake other lorries while on a two-lane road. The two lorries have almost identical power and gears, with maybe a slight difference in payload or wind resistance so that it takes maybe five minutes for the overtake to happen, by which time there is a queue of perhaps fifty cars nose to tail lined up behind which eventually burst by the lorries like a cork from a champagne bottle.
Am I the only one who thinks something must be done about this?
