Empathy

Today we had a patent-teacher conference with the wee lass's infant community teacher.

She was pleased to report that the wee lass is doing great at school. She is very good at displaying empathy, taking care of the younger children and feeding the class's pet guinea pigs. She is the first to volunteer for any jobs the teachers need help with and she also loves to help with cleaning the classroom.

She also enjoys all aspects of learning and social interaction with her peers. We were particularly interested to learn that she loves to do experiments and asks to repeat the experiments all the time. The teacher also told us that she often makes art pieces with really fine details and drawings, and just as the teachers are getting excited about showing it to us at pick-up time, she grabs a paint brush and paints all over the top of it. It's quite funny as the last time we asked what her painting was, she laughed 'a mess!!!!'

Her teacher said she will be sad to see her leave for the preschool class in January but, as you can imagine, the wee lass is very excited to be joining her big brother's class - she said she can't wait to learn to read :)
