The Parish Perishes

Every year it happens and I don’t know how she arranges it.  My mother’s birthday is always on St Andrews’s Day.  We took her out to buy her pressie in the Toon and then had lunch in the Kirkwall Hotel.  She indicated she is going to Sutherland’s to buy some Epsom salts, riveting stuff; you wouldn’t see this in a Booker prize winner or even a Will Self.

The light covering of snow soon got a shift.

Should I reread A Scots Quair ?
