Glen Affric

This is a picture of Loch Beinn a'Mheadhain, which is the first Loch in Glen Affric. This is reached by taking the A831 from Beauly in the Highlands of Scotland. At this time of year when the colours are starting to turn autumnal the scenery is quite striking. There are lots of walks in the large area, through forest trails and across moorland and also round the lochs.
In the clean air, you can smell the glen - the resin of pine, the perfume of bog mirtle, the hints of deer and musky traces of fox. We also heard Capercaille calling to each other. So all in all a great place to visit!
It looks better in large.
