Weston Park

and my first Christmas dinner today.

We went on the local NADFAS group visit to Weston Park, with particular emphasis on the paintings and treasures of the House.

I knew of the family’s interest in horses but hadn’t realised that they have a rare and splendid Stubbs with two horses. They have a whole wall full of Van Dycks, and several Luytgens and Joshua Reynolds. We had an introductory talk from the curator and then further descriptions from a skilled guide.

Fabulous light on the Temple of Diana. Lovely shapes and shades on the trees. And my attention was caught as we went between beautiful sitting rooms- my blip is of a modern angel lit by a beam of light.

We left for a short drive to enjoy free range turkey with all the trimmings.

I know it’s only November but I’m getting into the festive mood.....
