Rainclouds in the west

Late this afternoon, the southwestern sky became full of heavy looking rain clouds. It looked most unlikely that the sun (hidden at that time by the clouds) would cause any sort of colourful or dramatic sunset. Not to worry; I took a couple of shots early this morning of the low sun reflecting off buildings across the Waitemata in West Harbour.

The darker clouds dispersed and thinned and the sun started to be seen through the clouds, and eventually I was gifted this image.
