george washington masonic national memorial - more info here. i know - at a time when there is so much going on in dc with obama and all, this image fails to capture the moment. honetly, it's across from the train station, so i grabbed it on my departure this morning.

there really did seem to be a buzz about the dc area today. in the end i wish i'd stayed for the festivities. however, responsibility and the desire to dodge the crowd told me otherwise. should have a much better view from the tv tomorrow anyway. think my friends are going to attempt to see the swearing in - they're two miles away so getting there/back shouldn't be too bad.
