Up Front With Grunts and the Runt

The tiny Duroc piglets are 13 hours old. Mabel (the mama) had the babies this morning at just after midnight. According to the workers in the barn...the piglets found 2 things very quickly. 1. Mabel's nipples. 2. The heat lamp.

But...there was one thing the workers didn't do. Mama Mabel has a name, but the piglets don't.  So...I took the liberty of naming them. 6 girls and 4 boys.

The girls are Mary, Martha, Matilda, Maxine, Michelle, and Lulu.

The boys are Merrick, Mike, Myron, and Methuselah.

I had such a good time at the farm that I didn't go anyplace else in the park.

I had several shots that I liked, so I put a few into the Extras. A 16 day old calf, a chicken, a crane in the pig trough, a big draft horse, some more pigs, and a wing-flapping duck.

Such fun.
