Temple Gable
This is a pretty decoration on this temple but it is also highly symbolic.
-First, the gable is shaped as a perfect triangle.
-As it should, i bears three decorative elements: the Hamsa bird on the crest (in Hinduism it represents 'the swan amidst the light'); and two Nagas (the protecting serpent of water).
Like in many other cultures number 3 holds a symbolic value.
The colored pattern of ceramics is quite unusual. However, you will notice that the two main colors are green (for Nature) and red (for blood, and thus for life) on top of a white background (spirituality).
So, sometimes simple things are not as simple as they first appear!
