Mining remains

The area is littered with old mine relics. The blown out dam, collapsing buildings, rusting equipment, stagnant and ill-colored pools as well as a ghost town. The ghost town has a nice sign stating "Want to be mayor? Capitol City for sale".

We had a nice leisurely...COLD...morning at the campsite before heading back home. Stopped off in Crested Butte for lunch (only slightly out of the way) with C. We have seen her more often now that she lives 5.5 hours away than we did when she lived 30 minutes away - go figure.

What a fantastic weekend. And to think, I almost didn't go because it was going to be cold.
