Spinning yarn

The Saltspring Weavers & Spinners Guild held its 40th Anniversary with an exhibit and sale at Artspring, our main concert hall and art gallery. There I found this lady, showing how to spin first class yarn from genuine Saltspring wool. The spinning wheel is a modern design, which differs in several ways from a traditional spinning wheel.

The lady told me that this wheel was designed by an engineer on New Zealand, who made it for his wife.
