fleeting visions

dragonfly

This little dragonfly belongs to a set of garden solar lights, a gift from my cousin. They change colour, glimmering in and among the flowers in the front bed, little bright lights in the dark. And sometimes when I arrive home after dark - which is beginning to happen more now that the day is shortening - I stop a moment to look around. I look up at the stars to see if I recognize any constellations, and I look around the garden to see if my little lights are still glimmering.

Good night Orion. Good night dragonfly. It's good to be home.
