The canal stops here.

We had a walk out on a sunny, cold day. It was icy in places. View of the Union Canal as it terminates in the sky, the Falkirk Wheel is in use and parked below. I’m standing on top of the tunnel. The canal here and basin below were drained when I last posted from this location (14 February 2017) as maintenance was underway.

The Ochil Hills in the distance were snow covered to fairly low level, but this isn’t clear in the photo.
