In miniature....
This morning Sophia and I had a great time sorting her soft toys into their respective categories...."aquatic, jungle, ground and mythical"...all names of her choosing. Then they needed a home so we built a den from sheets, blankets, packing cases and pillows. Then we crawled inside and joined them. A happy squash.
After a brunch locally, we had time for the zip wire in the park with the children before saying our goodbyes. We headed back to Charing Cross and Covent Garden and then decided to get late tickets for a second visit to see 42nd Street. Making the most of the gift of time today!
We still had two hours before the show so made a wonderful visit to Fortnum & Mason where these fantastic Afternoon Tea decorations really appealed to me. I was sorely tempted. Then to grab a sandwich before the show. More a case of still full from brunch than time and expense.
42nd Street thrilled as much as the first time and having seats in the Royal Circle, meant we had a different perspective onto the stage. And we would go again! Well, I certainly would.
A quick march to the station, after all it was late and much colder than the day had been.. A train within minutes and the same for a bus this end. Fantastic.
I'm tired but determined to post tonight. It feels much more than one night that we've been away. It's been eventful!
