Ever wonder....
....how wreaths are made? I can’t say that I ever gave it much thought, but today my sister, my 2 nieces & I visited the “wreath workshop” at the Christmas Tree Farm near their home, where we watched about 6 women working on cutting long evergreen branches into shorter lengths, selecting a variety of evergreen branches to go together, attaching the fir branches to the metal ring (done with a foot press) & then decorating them. They were all cheerful and chatty, & were perfectly happy to be photographed. The smell of pine trees was heavenly—one of my favorite scents!
I’d driven up to my sisters’ this morning because my sister wanted to show me their newly purchased log home—which is stunning! They close the 28th. of Dec.but will probably not start moving until well after the first of the year. By the time we’d toured the house & the wreath workshop we were all hungry so went out to lunch before I headed back home. I’m now watching our undefeated Badgers playing the Minnesota Gophers—still the first half, but we’re ahead, 17-0. The two teams have a long standing rivalry, with the winning team earning the rights to the trophy for the year—the trophy being Paul Bunyan’s axe!! Wisconsin has won it the past 13 years—hoping to make it 14!! :))
