Blitz

 English like a bit of Donner and Blitz  and the Americans a bit of Donnar and Blitzen.


On a horrible wet day like today I stick to the German saying "Schlafende Hunde soll man nicht wecken" or  as you say  "let sleeping dogs lie".

Today as for over the last 14 years I have had  trusty Flash to look after and protect me - come sun, rain, sleet, hail, snow, lightning and nowadays with increasing deafness, even in thunder.

I didn't even wake Luna or Schorschi who were also sleeping this afternoon in front of the wood fire.
