Being WildCardinal...

Evening Lake

Back in Nottingham - I seem to be spending more time here than at home at the moment. The hotel this week is more of a gym with lots of rooms than a hotel with a bit of a gym. I'll have to make sure I use the pool a few times this week.

My room seemed to be right on top of the studios where they run classes - hugely loud music complete with a screaming woman urging me to pedal faster. A bit of a discussion with reception and they agreed to give me a new room. Now in a huge suite with 3 beds and loads of room.

I wondered over to the nature reserve round the back of the hotel. It was quite dark by the time I got there with the shorter evenings. The long exposures are really showing up the age of the G7. Maybe I'll buy a cheapie EF-S lens and start using my old 40D as my travel camera.

Alternatively any suggestions for a decent compact which has good manual control and relatively low noise or low-light capability? The Canon A100 looks reasonable, but not sure how good it is in low light.
