inspired by mophead hydrangeas
Every garden should have one - and round here they do. Their performance starts in the Spring with big fat leaf buds on bare stems which open out , forming a dense green domed shrub. Come the Summer, and the mophead flowers begin to emerge, until, by Midsummer, the whole bush is covered in flowery pompoms.
When the temperature begins to drop, and Summer fades into Autumn, the flowers change their hue, so that each shrub would be inspiration for an interior designer or a couturier.
I would love a dress in these colours.
