The Cobb at Lyme Regis...
...and the Dorset coast stretching away into the distance.
After a delicious breakfast at our B&B in Bideford we returned to my aunt's for a coffee with her and then met my cousin David who came in to fix her shower. David and I have met twice in the last 40 years, both times at funerals, so it was very nice to meet up in more relaxed times.
After we'd said our goodbyes we started driving east towards Dorchester and Mike and Charl. However, along the way (sort of) was Lyme Regis with its famous Cobb, seen here. The Cobb and the town have featured in at least three "literary" books and featured on the poster for the film, "The French Lieutenant's Woman".
It is a very beautiful place, even on a cloudy autumn dusk. We watched the sun set in the west and looked at the Dorset coast spreading to the east. We decided this was a place to return to when we had more time, but preferably not in the summer!
Then it was onward to Mike and Charl's, our first face to face meeting in over thirty years and a surprise he knew nothing about!
