Glasgow . . .
. . . has some very gracious old buildings and a lot of new ones too.
How come we wander round some shops and always end up with nothing but books?
Last night was fabulous. Chris Rea was on top form - the best gig of his I think I have ever seen (and I have seen many over the years). He showed off his amazing guitar skills and sang some new songs. But he also sang a few older ones, such as 'Stainsby Girl', which he hasn't done on stage for a long, long time, and which pleased the audience no end. The rendition of 'Road to Hell' was astonishing. At the end he had the capacity audience to their feet. A great night and what a fine concert hall the Royal Festival Hall is.
And if you want to listen for a few minutes to my all-time favourite of his, when he was at his most lyrical (and 30 years younger!) - here it is.
