Surprise
We arrived home in the late evening after a relaxed flight.
I've backblipped the pics. It starts here, if you like to have a look.
M. picked us at the airport... it is comfortable to have adult kids :-)
At home we had a good chat about the trip and what was going on at home.
Later M. mentioned an injury on his hand.
Years ago I had built a birds feeder on a long stake, so we could watch the birds from the first floor, where our living is. In the meanwhile the Thuja has grown enornmously and there was nothing to see from the feeder any more. We had decided that the thuja would have to be removed in the early spring, because it is much too big for the garden. The playground and the slide was totally grown over from it and even the path has to be cut free every year.
M. had removed and renovated the feeder in the last weeks and he told us that he had set it up again. "We added a light for the birds, do you want to have a look?", he asked? Sure I wanted! When I've turned on the light and was looking outside I was blown away. The thuja was gone!
While we were relaxing in Athens, M. and P. had cut down this enormous tree and felled it without any demolition. All branches were brought to a collecting place and the garden was cleared up perfectly. WOW!
I've made a collage so you can imagine how big the tree was...
Now I've the winter to plan what we will do with the new space. :-)
