Royal Blood

I took the children to see Royal Blood at the Alexandra Palace this evening (Sam and Eve came as well).

I'd never been there before, what a great venue, and only just over an hour away. 

The first band 'Black Honey' were great, not dissimilar to a few other Lady led rock bands but they put on a really good live show (we listened to them in the car on the way home and they are not as good as they are live).

Next up were 'At the drive in', a massive cult band who were utterly dreadful although I bet they are great to play in.

Finally Mike and Ben (Royal Blood appeared).. Amazing, utterly amazing. There was so much bass that my trouser legs were flapping. To more or less invent a type of music is one thing, to play with the ferocity which they do without losing any musicality is another. I suspect a lot of is the Chemistry between them and the interplay of bass and drums swapping between percussion and melody. It's brilliant.
