The Black Seal
Was working tonight so decided to take a walk on the beach to see the seals before work this morning. I needed to blow the cobwebs away and have some time alone with my thoughts. There are loads up there at the moment, but I still have not been lucky enough to see one being born.
I did see the black one, but it was heading back to sea. Every year on the dunes there is at least one beautiful black seal. You can never tell which one it will be until they start to shed their fluffy white coats. By the time you have worked it out they are heading off back to the sea. So the photograph is the almost clean pair of flippers of this years black pup. I was hoping it would turn round and let me get a shot of it's face, but it didn't really happen, and this is the best I got.
Update on my foster grand daughter. She was still not really getting any better and the doctors were worried because she can't even sit up now. So back to theatre for a two hour operation to take the water off her brain. She seems to have come through that OK, but there is no guarantee that it won't come back. She has been through so much she really does need a break soon. Her Mum also needs to feel she is on the mend so she can get some well deserved sleep.
