Graffiti Alley

I remembered this alley that has a few bits of graffiti along the wall.  Lucky there was some cover underneath stairs close by to shelter me from the rain - absolutely pouring!
Fulford Hall was rockin' last night with the Barney Bentall and the Cariboo Express show.  What a superb collections of musicians!  They kicked off the show with an outstanding cover of my very favourite Tragically Hip song, Bobcaygeon, as a tribute to Gord Downey who passed away this year.  I was hoping that Ridley Bent would play this song as he did in the show last year.  He played it right before the intermission, and with this band, it almost took the roof off the hall!  The fiddle player had a duel with the lead guitarist that wowed us .  A well deserved standing ovation from the entire crowd.  Wish I could find a live link!  G talked to Ridley at intermission and he said what a kick it is to play his song with a group like this. They kept the hall rockin' after intermission too, and got standing ovations at the end and after the encore.  So great to see fantastic shows like this five minutes from home.
The hall was packed so I hope a lot was raised for the food bank.  This show has raised over a million dollars for community food banks since they started touring about 11 years ago.
Extra:  this photo was published in the Langley Times and I have to include it here because it's such a great shot of Kalyn hoisting the championship trophy and all those happy smiles on her coach and teammates' faces.  :) Wish it was a better quality photo - maybe I can get a copy from the paper.
