one done...

...999 to go.

Junior came home from school the other day singing the praises of the day's relief teacher...who would be a relief teacher in a class of bolshy 11 and 12 year olds?

Anyway this  brave soul took on the class and read them 'The Boy in the Striped Pajamas'  and 'Sadako and the Thousand Paper Cranes.'
Apparently he had them spellbound, well at least attentive, and we now have the book and audio book of the former and the book and an origami project of the latter.

Junior has decided to make and send his 1000 paper cranes to hang from Sadako's statue in the Children's Peace Monument in Hiroshima's Peace Memorial Park... (there is also a statue of her in the Seattle Peace Park.)

Well done that relief teacher and bring on the origami!!
