Doña Oro

Lots of Sunday type action in the city today - musicians, buskers of all kinds, hawkers and families having a day out. Several major roads are closed on Sundays with only bicycles and buses (and police of course) allowed to use them.

This lady posed for photographs, with and without tourists, children, mums and dads... for many hours in the hot sun. Whatever she took home in that little box was hard earned.

The chap in uniform is one of the real palace guards (presidential palace is just out of shot to the left), as distinct from the ceremonial guards in their 'tin soldier' fancy dress (complete with long lances).
