Licked
Another full day.
It started with a frosty walk in Strathclyde Country Park. We left footprints in the frosty grass, broke ice in puddles, threw stones in the water, and explored small forests.
Next we went to Amazonia, where we saw giant snakes, tiny lizards, noisy parrots and butterfly pupae - which CyclopsJnr knows all about from The Very Hungry Caterpillar (one of his favourite books). The highlight was the bats, fluttering around in their dimly lit enclosure.
Having frozen in the park and boiled in the rainforest, a brief temperate spell in the car was welcome as we headed over to the National Museum of Rural Life. Tractors were a highlight for CyclopsJnr, especially the one he was allowed to climb on, and the one that pulled us up the hill from the museum to the farm on a trailer ride. We loved the little piglets and the ducks, and the farmyard cat. CyclopsJnr's favourite was this calf which he was allowed to stroke, and which licked his hand in return just half a second before I managed to hit the shutter button.
We had lunch at the museum (topped of with a mars bar crispy cake to die for), the CyclopsJnr slept for an hour in the car on the way back across.
Just time for a haircut and some shopping before dinner.
Bathtime was even more exciting than usual thanks to the welcome return of MrsCyclops. We're all happy to have our wee clan back together!
