Parhelion

The Parhelion or commonly known as Sun Dog occurs at 22 degrees to the Sun and is caused by sunlight passing through hexagonal ice crystals within Cirrus cloud. there are sometimes two which then gives the impression of three Suns in the sky. This one was viewed from Felixstowe this afternoon. They are also known as Mock Suns.
