Saturday - no work but new glasses
We had a long lie but the sun got us out of the bed before noon.
We left the house to find some food and some breakfast for me. Unfortunately Papercup was over crowded so we did the shopping first.
We went to the amazing butcher at Byres road and bought a big steak for dinner, then walked back up to Qurrn Margaret Drive and dropped into William's Café for a coffee and "breakfast" for me.
We have never been to William's because we always go to Sara's but the all day breakfast was appealing and I always wanted to try it.
I had their fish bowl, which is smoked haddock, poached eggs, mushrooms and hollandaise sauce. It was delicious!
After that I was due the annual "new glasses" treat and we went to Jim the optician to find a new frame. I basically tried almost every frame in the shop and we did manage to narrow down a pretty long shortlist to only one. Took a while so - bless Neil's patience :).
On the way home we popped into Sara's to find out how she had done with the Scottish Italian Awards, as she was at the Gala Award Dinner last week.
She was overly happy being runner up in 2 categories and actually in both best in Glasgow. I am overly proud of her!
Back home we got very lazy and the steak will be keeping another day in the fridge .....
Blip is taken at William's Café. Home baking. The cakes looked amazing.
