Washington wetlands centre

We went for a walk with a warden event. The warden-John- was interesting and informative.
The image is looking towards Penshaw Monument. When we went in the bird hide there were exclamations from the kids- oh look there's a squirrel - yes and two rats. The kids were definitely more impressed with the mammals rather than the birds. There were a huge number of birds on view including a willow tit which is quite rare in this area. I would recommend the event. They do it once or twice a month.
