Rough Castle

Woke to a gorgeous day and I was determined that we would all go out together and do something nice! I hoped to come back from walking Coco to find everyone ready to go out but although homework had been done it had also been decided that we would need to go to the shops - we had faulty goods to take back that had been lying, needing attention for a few weeks and it was about time we ventured into the concrete jungle. Item duly exchanged with no fuss although I did feel we could have done with an apology as fault was not our doing! I was in such a hurry to get back that a quick trip to a discount shop resulted in the purchase of two items which turned out not to be bargains at all and on getting them home discovered the skirt I'd bought was the wrong size, I'm such a bad shopper!
I did manage to get everyone out this afternoon although not as far as I'd hoped, we had a great walk along the Antonine Wall out to the Roman Fort at Rough Castle - Ky and Josh did their best as marauding Picts and ran about like a couple of daftys up and down the slopes.
They were all so worn out that when we had surprise visitors later on, after her initial greeting Coco settled down and went back to sleep. The children, on the other hand, are so terribly excited by the news they received that I think Ky may have trouble sleeping because of all the different things she has to think about!
