Female pheasant

Driving along the Grouse road today I noticed this female Pheasant Phasianus colchicus, sitting on the newly flailed hedge, which was somewhat odd. However, there are a lot of pheasants around the area in West Sussex where I live at the moment, and this isn't the first one I have known to act in an odd manner, so I can only guess she felt safe on the top of the hedge!
I have added a shot of the wooded part of the Grouse road in my extras, looking especially wonderful in the late afternoon sunshine. 
Weekend now, and 2 days off.......yippeeeee!
