Busy

8:30 at GPs to have a good dose of iron infusion.

I wish the Germans (excl. North Germans who know better), would learn that black tea from places like Ceylon, India and China and made from the leaves of the tea plant, is TEA. Everything else is an Infusion or Aufgussmittel -  Hydrangea-Orange-Rose Tea is NOT TEA. I don't care how healthy and good tasting it is. It's not TEA.

I wasn't served a cup of tea or anything else but there again I wasn't giving blood or doing any public good. As Doc stuck the needle in, I mentioned my neck was still hurting and so she has given me a prescription for 6 massage sessions - just the basic neck & shoulders kneading.

In & out within an hour and home in light rain and 0°C. After a year or two over here, you get to be quite relaxed about hurtling down roads and around corners and roundabouts in such conditions. Today the first ski  lifts in the area started with more to follow tomorrow.

Felt like cooking so made a celeriac/apple soup with some chicken stock made last night. Then a cherry cream Biskuitrolle as it's called here - a swiss roll. Don't think I have ever made one before. Looked great to me and very simple. I may not be the best at decorating but it looked like a rustical snow scene form the times before one had machines charging over the pistes and preparing perfect slopes.

Then off for a bit of tractor driving. Time to bring in the first bale of haylage. Didn't have the right lifting gear but managed to get it spiked on the front loader and in to the stable. Plastic removed and it looked to be in good shape - it's grass from 2016. Seemingly cats didn't overdo their claw sharpening stretch exercises and rip holes in it.

Angie, after her photo session yesterday, went to the next level, setting up a tripod directly by the terrace door. She was joined by Flash as well as cats Cindy, Eddie and Lui (to her right). Outside the chickens were hoping we might have some scraps having picked up any remains under the wild bird food table.

She got a few good ones but again mainly the jays that are so fascinating to watch as they swallow at least two, sometimes three peanuts still in their double shells. Do they then regurgitate them?
I posted for her on her Blip as she was too busy. Not sure which she would have wanted but I went for a Nuthatch which wasn't shown yesterday.

Finally a dog walk at dusk in a slight drizzle or as they say here Sprühregen - spray rain. Radio was constantly reminding people to take care on the roads as now the ground was beginning to get cold and pavements roads could freeze.
