Sue Foll's picture of the day

"Who's a pretty boy then?"

Some early morning shots of Parakeets in Richmond Park. They are not indigenous. Their ancestors probably escaped from a private collection. Being green they blended into the local environment fairly well and survived. My memory of these noisy little fellows comes from Cairns in North Queensland. They settle in the trees at sunset squawking and tweeting so loud you could hardly hear yourself.

I'm down in Kingston Vale this morning to visit Dorich House. The home of sculptor Dora Gordine and her Russian scholar husband Richard Hare it is a gorgeous 1930's studio home. I would happily live there.

I didn't know much about Dora before our visit. Afterwards I wondered why she wasn't more famous given her considerable success and connections.

Afterwards Peter and Bridget took me to lunch at The Telegraph in Putney. Absolutely delightful.
