THE CRETAN LYRA

Never saw one of these before - it's a tiny bowed instrument -  the strings stand high above the fingerboard & you make the note by pressing a fingernail against the string you're bowing - see:

This wee beast had been dropped onto something sharp & aggressive which stove in the back & parted the table from the sides - all disappeared now.

It's a right bugger to play...
