We Interupt this Programme..............

Scapa Flow is gradually brewing up into a cauldron in turmoil.  Today’s pm crossing of the Pentland Firth is already cancelled.  As was today’s meeting with the surveyor across in Hoy. 

We attended the Orphir Kirk cafe today and had an update with Rev P; Mrs P gave us an account of recent activities.  Her account was very thoughtful, doughty and spirited; her usual.  Cafe news was about R who has had a fall and who has been retained in the Balfour Hospital.  G indicated he had been called out one day to work in the Kirkwall Power Station.  E gave us an update of the Cake rota and J indicated she flies south to Aberdeen tomorrow for an exploratory operation; key-hole she hopes and not involving Lloyd Grossman.  X, Y or indeed Z did not attend the cafe.

One big draw at the cafe is the availability of the weekly Orcadian*.  I get one day to read it and then the Current Mrs Creel gives me a test.  I don’t think I have ever reported this before but the Current Mrs Creel has ‘CMC’ etched on ‘her’ creepie, and that‘s the way it should be.

Inevitably yesterday’s mention of Roberta Joan Anderson has led me onto Jaco Pastorius.  Grapper Moley to some. It’s all getting a bit baffling; I think I’d better stop.

*My Maida Vale correspondent indicates that the ‘loose tanker’ story wasn’t mentioned in East Enders.
