BMW Welt

BMW World in English.  Stands for "Bayerische Motoren Werke" in case you  wondered.

Our conference was here today.

It is not a building designed for me.

It's architectural and modern and open and brilliant.  Don't get me wrong, it was a brilliant venue for everybody else.

I had lots of problems navigating it.

I felt that the conference, though, was more of an extended advert for more things that we could buy from our sponsors.

The catering was ridiculous though. Arrive at 8:30 for coffee and cake, almost half an hour after a massive hotel breakfast.  Then a couple of speeches and presentations, and time for more coffee and cake.

And then lunch:-

3 types of salad as starters - 1: smoked ricotta, 2: Flanksteak 3: Prawns and Chorizo.  Then a mushroom consomme.  Then came a poached egg with truffels as a sort of little break.  Then you could have either a mini schnitzel with fried potatoes and lingonberries, or Loup de Mer with assorted sides.  And then came the 2 desserts.

I was a minor miracle that anyone stayed awake for the afternoon.  I did, because I didn't eat any of it.  I was starting to feel cold again.

Anyway, it finished and we headed home.  After a Lonnnngggg drive, I was really happy to be home.

Really happy to have gotten to know some new colleagues as well.
