Thor's
Back into the normal routine today, and a trip to Metheringham to visit my parents. Once I was off the train I attempted once again to call the Meg area number that I didn't recognise and had a couple of missed calls from. I finally got hold of the caller, and it was, as I suspected, a lady telling me I'd won a raffle prize from their Christmas fair last Saturday.
The prize itself was a very underwhelming pack of two bottles of alcohol free wine (I left that for my Dad to give to their neighbour/carer - they are non-drinkers for religious reasons!) The lady who called was interesting to talk to though - she organises these events to fund raise for local animal charities.
I had a less friendly chat with a man on the corner of my parents' street who came out of his house and shouted really nasty abuse at his own cat who was miaowing to be let in (He's a lovely ginger cat who I have blipped previously!) I must have looked horrified, as he felt the need to explain that the cat can't come in as their newly acquired dog doesn't like him! I said that as he'd got the cat first he shouldn't be shoved out! Don't think the guy was impressed at me poking my beak in!
My dad said that the dog doesn't like anyone!
Anyway they were OK. My Mum was whingeing non-stop that she never leaves the house any more. She's been out every day this week, except today! I wonder why her memory is set to only forget good things, while bad things stay in there and are magnified!
She had a fall at my Aunt and Uncle's house a while ago. That's all it was, but she said my Aunt just sat there and didn't help, which my Dad said wasn't the case. This has now become a tale of how my Aunt deliberately tripped her and then laughed!
Thank you very much to everyone who responded to my shot of a young seal yesterday, and got in onto page 4 of the popular pages!
A much more bog standard shot today of Lincoln's festive attraction for this year - Thor's Tipi Bar! They are selling beers, mulled cider, wine, hot chocolate, etc. There are also "Little Viking" sessions with crafts and stories for kids.
This must be in place of the ice-rink, which we won't be having this year, as I noticed today that a christmas tree has been set up where the ice rink normally goes, whilst the tipi is in the usual place for the tree!
I am hoping to visit the tipi and partake of a few of its delights, whereas you'd never get me on the ice rink!
